PrEPARING Walls for WallPAPER
Essential steps to prepare your walls for a flawless wallpaper installation.
1. site preparation
- Remove wall décor like painting, photo frame, decorative items etc.
- Move furniture away from the wall.
- Protect floor with cardboard/newspaper/plastic.
2. equipments required:
- Prepare toolkit: hammer, screwdriver, sandpaper, scraper, sponge, water bucket, waste bin, blade knife, paint roller, ladder.
- For ceiling and double-height walls, scaffolding is required.
3. wall preparation
- Remove old wallpaper (if any)
- Scrape old, flaking paint with sandpaper and finish with putty/POP for a smooth wall.
- Apply a white-colored oil primer mixed with enamel paint for better adhesion of your wallpaper. Let it dry.
- Allow 1-2 weeks drying time for freshly prepared walls.
note
- 1. Wall must be free of termites or seepage.
- 2. Ensure wall is clean, dry and smooth for a great finish.
- 3. The installation site should be clean and free from dirt.
- 4. Be aware that installers might charge additional fees if the site isn't ready on the scheduled day and needs rescheduling.
